The Worst gTLD

Postby chip » Fri Dec 09, 2016 3:50 pm

It's Friday, might as well have a fun thread. What is the worst gTLD that's been proposed, delegated or otherwise?

I think .plumbing and .university are pretty pointless, .and made no sense

I'm not too sure I mind silly domains that are good for domain hacking, like .and. It should be dirt cheap though, charging full price for a joke domain is just dumb.

University is pretty bad, along with all the proffesion TLDs. Who was going to buy them, all the universities and that already have real domains? Plumbing gave us bsd.plumbing though.

I think the cake goes to .blackfriday, with it's entire 1 desirable domain though.

Well the dot horse was pretty wild. I really enjoyed the website called walmart.horse It was an art project and very funny. Quite simple, a head shot of a horse in front of a Walmart store. Walmart got all bent out of shape about it and forced him to take it down. Which was also funny.

Edit: just noticed the Ars Technica report is still online with a picture of the site here http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015 ... n-dispute/
