I have it running on ns2.vic it seems to stop the server from being used in amplified DNS attacks.
Once i figure out how to disable all logging on it I will start using it on ns1.vic and remove the white list from that server.

Yeah, I think the amount of registrations are much more concerning vs. spam posts from already registered users. Indeed. Already registered users can be trivially banned. Does anyone know if there's a way to ban a user and delete all his posts? Some of these bots make more than one post and manuall...

Have you tried stopforumspam.com?

It will search the username, and IP range when they register they have a phpbb mod

Would an in memory cache be a better idea? (I think this might be ram heavy) All it would need to hold is the IP address and hit count I'm looking for anything that will allow me to take my server off the white list only option. Bandwidth is very expensive in Australia I get charged $1 per GB over m...

Can this be modified to help with DNS amplification attacks?

Have a table of recent ANY or TXT requests and drop the request if the hit count is high for example?

Don't be afraid when you break your server remember your T2 will be used by users give them enough time to switch before you stop supporting the server.
